We're a small Glastonbury studio building bold, well-loved campaigns for brands with something to actually say. Brand, paid social, creative production. From people who'd rather take a tea break in a field than sit on a stand-up Slack call.
We won't make you a forty-slide deck about how AI is going to transform your customer journey. The rest of this, we're rather good at.
The hard work of figuring out what you actually stand for, in language a human will say back to you in the pub.
Meta, TikTok, Google. Built around actual creative variation and proper attribution, not vanity reports.
Photo, video, motion, copy. The whole stack of assets your campaigns actually need to perform.
Klaviyo, HubSpot, Customer.io. The retention work that quietly owns most of your annual margin.
Conversion-built pages from a small team that's read more Baymard than your competitors.
Server-side tagging, deduplicated attribution, MMM where it earns its keep. Honest numbers, no fluff.
These show up on the first call. They've cost us a couple of pitches. We're peaceful with that.
The market doesn't punish bland — it just gradually stops paying attention. Watch any FMCG category over five years.
The work is the actual thing that ships and gets seen. Decks are a way of avoiding the work.
Run them through different agencies and the seams will eat your margin within four quarters. We've watched it happen.
Three to five people in a room beats forty on a Zoom. Almost without exception.
Most of the work is figuring out what's worth scaling. The scaling itself is the easy part.
Every campaign we work on goes through a "would I send this to my mum?" check. Surprising how much it filters.
Listed with permission. There's a longer list on request — many clients prefer the back-channel route.
Crikey was founded in 2020 by two refugees from larger London agencies who wanted to build something proper out of west country. We started with three clients in our first year and have grown carefully ever since.
We are six people full-time — three strategists, two paid-media leads, and one head of production. We work with a tight roster of freelance directors, designers, and editors we trust completely. The cap on our work is dictated by the size of our team, not by ambition.
Our clients tend to be founder-led businesses in the £5–50m range. Some are very local. Some are international. All of them have something distinctive to say and have decided not to outsource the saying of it to twenty juniors and a project manager.
We charge fair fixed retainers, send invoices on the first of the month, and don't run procurement deathmarches. Most projects start with a 90-minute conversation over coffee, in person where possible.
Drop us a note. We read everything that comes through. If we're the right fit we'll be in touch within two working days. If we aren't, we'll often pass you towards a studio we trust who is.
No procurement portals. No NDAs to talk. Just an email and a sensible brief.
